Week of May 21, 2012

Hello!!!

It seems like forever since I’ve written to you!!

We went on our Disney tour as you know.  It did not disappoint and we had a great time.  The bus company outdid themselves this time, however in unprofessionalism and poorly maintained busses!  Boy was that a hassle! At the end of the trip, our 15 hour bus ride ended up to be 24 hours!  Gotta love it.  Here are a couple of photos:

This is the whole group at the fountain at the end of the trip at Magic Mountain

This is us getting ready for the Rose Parade in Santa Rosa, CA

Lainey (2nd in from this side) in the Tuba line.

This is Annie and Brenna on a ride at Discovery Kingdom (Six Flags).  Annie is in a white t-shirt about 2/3 of the way up and Brenna is beside her on the left.

On Tuesday, when we got back, Grandma and Grandpa came and the next morning Grandpa flew out to Oklahoma to visit with Mitch for a couple of weeks.

Grandma is staying here with her three dogs while he is gone.  Boy, has it been a long time since she’s been here just to visit us!

It’s been fun to “hang out” with her.  When she gets back home on the 6th, she is going to be set apart as her Stake’s new Stake Relief Society President!  She’s really excited and it will be fun to see her lead again.  I think I will go down to see her sustained.  They are having a big Stake Conference and getting both a new Stake President and a new Bishop.  Dallin Oaks is coming to preside!

So, I can’t remember if I told you or not.  I think I did.  Dad and I are going to be released as the Stake Activities committee culinary specialists and I am the new ward Primary 2nd Counselor.  I did my first Sharing Time today. It was fun.  I’ve got to learn everyone’s name!  Same problem I have at work too.

Now the drama of the week:  Yesterday, Grandma asked Dad to pop the back off of her watch so that she could replace the battery.  So, of course he whips out his pocket knife.  After all, it’s the perfect tool for the job, right?  So he slipped and thought to himself, “this is dangerous; I shouldn’t do it this way”, but continues with the knife for another try.  Well, you know what the end result is, right?  Four stitches in his left middle finger!  We didn’t have enough drama going on in the house, so he just had to create some! Boy, was it a bleeder!  You could count Dad’s heart beats to the pulsing blood.  Drew, you’d have loved every minute of it!

Here are some fun shots Breanna took of Lainey yesterday:

Annie continues to do well.  She is staying quit from the cigarettes so far.  I think as long as Nick does well, she will too.  They are good for each other right now.  He’s very good to her.

Can’t wait to read your emails this week! Brad, you should send me one too!  How about on Wednesday?  Then I’d get one three days in a row and I’d know what you’re up to!

Love you guys!!!!
